Key Responsibilities:
1. *Patient Evaluation:*
– Assess patients’ medical history, allergies, and current health status to determine the most appropriate anesthesia plan.
– Conduct preoperative consultations, including discussing risks and benefits of anesthesia options with patients.
2. *Anesthesia Administration:*
– Administer various types of anesthesia (local, regional, or general) to patients undergoing surgical or medical procedures.
– Monitor patients’ vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels) during surgery to ensure stability.
3. *Pain Management:*
– Provide pain management services, including epidural injections, nerve blocks, and postoperative pain control.
– Develop and implement pain management plans for patients with chronic pain or those recovering from surgery.
4. *Patient Monitoring:*
– Monitor patients during surgery to ensure they remain safe, adjusting anesthesia levels as needed.
– Manage any complications that may arise during the procedure, such as adverse reactions to anesthesia.
5. *Postoperative Care:*
– Oversee patient recovery from anesthesia in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
– Manage postoperative pain and monitor patients as they regain consciousness.
– Address any complications that may arise after surgery.
6. *Collaboration:*
– Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care throughout the surgical process.
– Communicate effectively with surgical teams to manage patient care.
7. *Documentation:*
– Maintain detailed records of anesthesia administration, patient responses, and any complications that arise.
– Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and medical standards.
Qualifications:
– *Education:* Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in anesthesiology.
– *Licensure:* Board certification in anesthesiology; state medical license, DHA License – Mandatory
– *Experience:* Residency in anesthesiology; additional fellowship training for specialized fields (e.g., pediatric anesthesiology) is a plus.
