Description
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations through interviews, physical exams, symptom analysis, and medical testing
- Perform various diagnostic tests, such as exercise tests, cardiac catheterizations, and imaging procedures, including echocardiograms
- Analyze diagnostic test results and interpret findings to develop an accurate diagnosis
- Establish treatment goals with patients and create personalized treatment plans
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Refer patients to surgeons or other specialists when required and collaborate on patient care during surgical procedures
- Advise on and assist with cardiac surgeries as necessary
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans accordingly
- Educate patients and their families on recovery strategies, lifestyle changes, and long-term cardiovascular health management
- Conduct ongoing research to stay current on advancements in cardiology and apply new findings to improve patient care
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as biology, physical sciences, or pre-med
- A Medical degree specialization in cardiology with valid state license
- Participation in continuing medical education and membership in professional organizations is preferred
- Strong proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite
- A passion for improving the health and well-being of patients
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with patients and healthcare teams
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Patience, empathy, and sensitivity to the concerns and needs of patients
