Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Pediatric Patient Evaluation & Rehabilitation Plan:

  • Assess the physical therapy needs of children through detailed evaluations.
  • Develop individualized rehabilitation plans based on the evaluation, including clear objectives, treatments, outcomes, and discharge planning.
  • Provide rehabilitation services according to the established care plan, ensuring that the child’s needs are addressed effectively.

Reassess and Adjust Treatment Plans:

  • Regularly evaluate the child’s response to the physical therapy services provided.
  • Modify and update the rehabilitation care plan as necessary to optimize the child’s development and progress.

Family & Teacher Guidance:

  • Guide parents and teachers in practicing exercises and appropriate motor techniques in home or educational settings to support the child’s physical development.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to parents and teachers to enhance the child’s movement development in daily life activities.

Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team:

  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and physicians, to ensure a holistic approach to the child’s rehabilitation.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress, share insights, and adjust treatment plans based on interdisciplinary feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to align rehabilitation goals and treatment approaches for optimal patient outcomes.

Meetings with Families:

  • Meet regularly with families to discuss the child’s progress, adjust treatment plans, and provide updates on rehabilitation goals.
  • Educate families on the child’s condition and rehabilitation process, and guide exercises and techniques to continue at home.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Complete necessary documentation in the daily treatment notes as part of the EMS (Electronic Medical System).
  • Ensure that all patient records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory standards.

Professional Development & In-Service Education:

  • Participate in professional development activities and attend in-service educational sessions to meet development needs and performance improvement goals.
  • Engage in training activities to stay updated with the latest developments in pediatric physical therapy.

Employee Training & Consultation:

  • Participate in employee education and training activities, offering consultations and guidance to staff regarding physical therapy techniques and best practices.

Community Engagement & Marketing:

  • Contribute to marketing and community education efforts as required.
  • Participate in activities aimed at raising awareness about the benefits of pediatric rehabilitation services in the community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, with a focus on pediatric therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensing: Valid license to practice as a physical therapist in Saudi Arabia (SCFHS).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric physical therapy, preferably in a rehabilitation or hospital setting.
  • Skills:
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills specific to pediatric care.
  • Ability to design and implement effective rehabilitation plans for children.
  • Proficiency in documenting and maintaining patient records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in working with children and their families.
  • Knowledge of modern pediatric physical therapy techniques and best practices.
