Conduct thorough consultations with patients to assess symptoms and address their medical concerns
Diagnose and treat a variety of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung-related diseases
Interpret and utilize various diagnostic tests such as CT scans, chest fluoroscopies, ultrasounds, and bronchoscopies to diagnose cardiopulmonary conditions
Perform specialized procedures to obtain lung tissue or chest wall lining samples for further analysis
Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons to evaluate the risk status of patients and recommend suitable interventions, particularly for tuberculosis cases
Offer long-term care support and guidance to patients with chronic pulmonary conditions
Contribute to research efforts aimed at developing new treatment options and medications for pulmonary diseases
Provide immunizations to prevent preventable respiratory conditions
Keep accurate and detailed records of patient consultations, tests, treatments, and progress
Refer patients to cardiothoracic surgeons or other specialists as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field
Medical degree from an accredited institution
Completion of a 4-year internship and clinical residency program, specializing in pulmonology
Active and valid medical license to practice
Strong communication skills, with the ability to empathize and effectively interact with patients
Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate patient needs
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and treating pulmonary conditions
Strong research and analytical abilities to contribute to advancements in the field of pulmonology
