Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital is seeking a General Practitioner with dedicated experience in nephrology and dialysis to support the growing Nephrology service. This role is designed to enhance patient safety, improve service efficiency, and ensure continuity of care across both outpatient and inpatient settings. The GP will work under the supervision of Consultant Nephrologists, supporting dialysis services and chronic kidney disease management while contributing to overall service quality and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Nephrology service in the day-to-day management of patients across outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and dialysis services
  • Perform pre- and post-dialysis assessments, patient monitoring, and accurate clinical documentation within the dialysis unit
  • Participate in inpatient reviews under consultant supervision, ensuring timely clinical assessments and interventions
  • Manage stable and routine nephrology cases, improving clinic efficiency and patient flow
  • Coordinate routine investigations, follow up on results, and ensure timely clinical decision-making
  • Provide patient education on chronic kidney disease (CKD), dialysis care, and lifestyle modifications
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, DOH regulations, and clinical governance standards
  • Support continuity of care through structured follow-up and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and operational sustainability

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • DOH license (or eligibility) as a General Practitioner
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Prior experience supporting dialysis units and managing chronic kidney disease patients
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary hospital environment
