Position Overview

The Performance & Talent Development Specialist is responsible for designing, governing, and delivering NCH’s performance management, talent development, and learning frameworks to ensure a high-performing, future-ready workforce. The role acts as the custodian of performance discipline, leadership capability, and development standards across the organisation.

This position leads the end-to-end performance management cycle, talent reviews, succession planning, and the activation of NCH Academy, ensuring that learning and development initiatives are directly linked to performance outcomes, business priorities, and capability gaps. The role combines strategic design with hands-on execution, including the design and delivery of targeted training programmes, while leveraging internal subject matter experts to scale learning impact.

Working closely with the Head of Human Resources, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders, the role supports the organisation’s transition to a more structured corporate operating model by embedding consistent performance, development, and succession practices, strengthening leadership pipelines, and reducing dependency on individuals.

Roles and Responsibilities

Performance Management Governance

  • Design, manage, and govern the end-to-end performance management cycle, ensuring timely completion, quality standards, and consistency across the organisation.
  • Review and challenge performance objectives and evaluations to ensure clarity, fairness, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Coordinate performance calibration sessions and support leaders with evidence-based insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor performance outcomes, identify risk areas, and escalate gaps or inconsistencies proactively.

Talent Development & Succession Planning

  • Lead talent review and succession planning processes, ensuring critical roles have identified successors and clear development actions.
  • Maintain visibility of high-potential employees, leadership readiness, and talent risks across functions.
  • Work with leaders to define development pathways for key roles and future leaders.
  • Track and report on succession coverage, readiness levels, and development progress.

Learning Strategy & NCH Academy Activation

  • Design and deliver targeted learning programmes aligned to performance gaps, leadership capability needs, and organisational priorities.
  • Activate and manage NCH Academy by leveraging internal subject matter experts as trainers alongside their functional roles.
  • Develop structured learning journeys, induction programmes, and capability frameworks to support early productivity and long-term growth.
  • Select and manage external learning providers where required, ensuring cost effectiveness and relevance.

Training Delivery & Evaluation

  • Facilitate selected training programmes directly, particularly those related to performance management, leadership fundamentals, onboarding, and core people practices.
  • Ensure training materials, content, and delivery methods are practical, consistent, and business-relevant.
  • Measure training effectiveness through feedback, participation data, and post-training application, refining programmes based on outcomes.

Stakeholder Partnership & Change Enablement

  • Partner with business leaders to support performance improvement, leadership development, and change initiatives.
  • Reinforce NCH culture and values through performance and development practices.
  • Support the transition to a structured corporate operating model by embedding standardised performance, learning, and development practices.

Governance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate documentation, dashboards, and reports related to performance, talent, and development outcomes.
  • Ensure alignment with HR policies, procedures, and system workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and frameworks to enhance effectiveness and scalability.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in talent development, performance management, organisational development, or talent management within a structured HR environment.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating performance cycles, learning programmes, and talent reviews with senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering training programmes, including onboarding, manager capability, and leadership fundamentals.
  • Exposure to succession planning, leadership development, and capability frameworks within a multi-function or fast-growth organisation is preferred.
  • Professional certification, such as CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent, is an advantage.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of performance management frameworks, calibration processes, and goal-setting methodologies.
  • Proven capability in learning needs analysis, programme design, training delivery, and evaluation of learning effectiveness.
  • Solid understanding of succession planning models, talent segmentation, and leadership pipeline development.
  • Experience using HR systems and dashboards (preferably MS Dynamics or similar HRIS) to manage cycles, workflows, and reporting.
  • Ability to translate talent and performance data into clear insights, risks, and practical recommendations for leadership.
  • Strong documentation discipline, with experience maintaining templates, toolkits, trackers, and audit-ready records.

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to link performance and development initiatives to organisational priorities and outcomes.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills, able to challenge constructively and enforce standards without damaging relationships.
  • High level of ownership and accountability, with comfort operating in environments with senior leadership visibility.
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and disciplined, with a strong respect for governance and consistency.
  • Coaching-oriented mindset, with the ability to support managers and leaders through feedback, development, and change conversations.
