The role is responsible for processing patient billing, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining financial records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The role requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance guidelines, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with both patients and insurance providers.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate medical records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring no missing documentation.
  • Provide feedback and training to clinical staff to improve documentation quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Assign correct ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, and other relevant codes for diagnoses and procedures.
  • Assist with external audits by coordinating with auditors and providing accurate records.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to maintain compliance and improve documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians to clarify or resolve discrepancies in clinical documentation.
  • Ensure coding compliance with Department of Health regulations.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of career experience in a hospital or a medical centre environment within the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance processes, billing cycles, and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding standards.
  • Proficient in billing and hospital information systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic, or similar).
