Description
Job Description
- Operate and utilize designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed to complete assignments.
- Meet the required efficiency set by the doctors/department.
- Provide quality transcription of the dictated or written reports by the use of proper resources and proofreading of own work.
- Follow department’s/doctors’ formats in doing reports. Understand diverse accents and varying dictation styles.
- Identify mistakes in reports, and check with doctors to obtain the correct information.
- Return dictated reports in electronic or printed form for radiologists /physician’s review, signature, and corrections and for inclusion in patient’s medical records.
- Responsible for entering Clinical History, Physicians/Radiologists diagnostic reports in to the HMS.
- Responsible for Cross checking & verifying unique reference number of each patient reference forms.
- Ensure the confidentiality of the contents of the reports transcribed.
- Works week-ends and holidays according to the schedule compiled by the head of department.
- Strictly adheres to organization’s regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, EHSMS, HAAD, JCI and ISO.
- Supports Continuous Quality Improvement and participates and contributes to all the quality assurance activities of the service.
- Participates and contributes in scheduled in-service training programs, In house activities or other programs as requested.
- Exercises effective interpersonal skills in dealings with department staff, associates and Management.
- Maintains confidentiality as per the agreement signed.
- Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
- Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.

Qualifications
4.1 Qualification: Graduate
4.2 Experience : At least 2 years as Medical Transcriptionist.
4.3 Skill set : Ability to transcribe medical/audio files with 100% quality.
4.4 Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic desirable but not mandatory.
