Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Education:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or related field

2. Licensure and Certification:

• Valid professional classification and registration from the Saudi Commission for

Health Specialties (SCFHS)

3. Language Proficiency:

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to follow clinical dietitian instructions accurately.

6. Good organizational and time-management abilities.

7. Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts if required.

8. Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

9. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

10. Assist clinical dietitians in evaluating patients’ nutritional needs through data collection,

interviews, and reviewing medical records.

11. Prepare and implement patient diet plans according to prescribed therapeutic diets.

12. Monitor patients’ food intake, tolerance, and adherence to diet orders; report findings to

supervising dietitians.

13. Coordinate with the Food Services Department to ensure meals are prepared and

delivered according to nutritional and safety standards.

14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient diet records in the hospital information system.

15. Assist in menu planning and recipe modification to meet therapeutic and cultural

  • requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Assist clinical dietitians in collecting patient nutrition data, including dietary history, food

preferences, and relevant medical information.

2. Monitor and record patients’ food intake, tolerance, and response to prescribed diets;

report changes to supervising dietitians

3. Coordinate daily with the Food Services Department to ensure accurate meal

preparation and timely delivery in accordance with diet orders.

4. Assist in menu planning and updating diet sheets to meet clinical requirements and

cultural preferences.

5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient diet records within the hospital’s electronic

medical record system.

6. Verify diet orders and ensure that meal trays match prescribed dietary guidelines before

distribution.

7. Assist in conducting nutrition-related audits, surveys, and data collection for

departmental reports.

8. Ensure compliance with MOH, SCFHS, and SFDA regulations and hospital policies related

to nutrition and food safety.

9. Perform other duties assigned by the supervising dietitian or Nutrition Department

management.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

1. Knowledge of basic and therapeutic nutrition principles.

2. Understanding of hospital diet categories.

3. Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.

4. Knowledge of Saudi healthcare regulations related to nutrition services.

5. Understanding of food preparation, portion control, and meal service

procedures in clinical settings.

6. Strong communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and

healthcare teams.

7. Accurate and organized record-keeping and data-entry skills.

8. Ability to follow detailed instructions and clinical diet orders.

9. Effective time-management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced

environment.

10.Competency in inspecting food quality, meal tray accuracy, and service

compliance.

11.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

12.Ability to educate patients using simple, culturally appropriate language.

13.Ability to identify and report issues related to patient food intake, diet

compliance, or food safety.

14.Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and professionalism.

15.Ability to adapt to shift work, changing schedules, and high-demand periods.

16.Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical and professional standards

in patient care.

Experience:

1. 1 years of experience working in a nutrition.

2. Experience assisting dietitians with patient assessments, diet planning, and follow

up.
