Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.

The Pediatric Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and delivering individualized therapeutic interventions to infants, children, and adolescents in an outpatient setting. The role focuses on improving developmental, sensory, motor, and functional skills to enhance independence and participation in daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients to identify developmental delays, sensory processing issues, and functional limitations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient needs, and family goals
  • Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve fine motor skills, gross motor coordination, sensory integration, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Educate parents and caregivers on home programs, therapeutic techniques, and strategies to support the child’s development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including pediatricians, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and psychologists
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress reports
  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in case conferences, discharge planning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide a safe, child-friendly, and engaging therapeutic environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Valid UAE license (DOH/DHA/MOH) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy in an outpatient setting.
