Job Description
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the hospital’s end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring
the timely procurement, storage, and distribution of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals. This role
focuses on optimizing inventory levels, reducing costs, and supporting operational efficiency while maintaining
compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The Supply Chain Manager collaborates with clinical,
administrative, and operational teams to ensure the hospital’s supply needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively
Managerial/Administration
- Lead and mentor, and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and enforce supply chain policies, standard operating procedures, and internal controls to ensure operational excellence and compliance with hospital standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and operational departments to align procurement and inventory planning with hospital objectives and patient care priorities.
- Monitor team performance, set clear objectives, and conduct regular performance evaluations to drive professional growth and operational effectiveness.
- Prepare and present comprehensive supply chain performance reports, including inventory status, procurement metrics, and cost management insights, to senior leadership.
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, sourcing, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
- Develop, manage, and monitor procurement budgets, implementing cost-control measures while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
- Implement inventory optimization strategies to minimize waste, prevent stockouts, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks of inventory, storage conditions, and distribution processes.
- Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives, leveraging ERP and HIS systems to enhance supply chain efficiency, accuracy, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and accreditation standards across all supply chain operations.
- Analyze supply chain performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
- Develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies aligned with hospital growth plans and operational goals.
- Partner with hospital leadership on capital projects, service expansions, and major procurement initiatives, providing data-driven financial and operational insights.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses, ROI assessments, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- CPIM – Certified in Production and Inventory Management
- CSCP – Certified Supply Chain Professional
- CPSM – Certified Professional in Supply Management
- Master’s Degree: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics.
- Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics.
