Provides therapeutic and patient care services for the purpose of delivering radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.

· Decides whether patient setup is correct and treatment parameters overall sound

· Direct impact on treatment outcome

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Determines and delivers appropriate patient treatment plan in collaboration with physician, dosimetrist, and

physicist

· Monitors and documents patient’s condition and reports any adverse reactions.

· Assesses and educates patients according to specific department protocols.

· Positions patients and selects anatomic/technical parameters accurately. · Checks and adjusts necessary equipment, including linear accelerator. · Performs machine QA as instructed by Physicist · Prepares and assembles alloy shielding blocs for patient treatment · Promptly reports equipment malfunctions · Other duties as assigned.

Education

· Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technology or registry eligible or equivalent.

Certification and Licensure

Board Certified Registered Radiation Therapist (R) with current state licensure as well as be certified in Radiation Therapy or equivalent · T(ARRT) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required or equivalent · BLS Healthcare Provider
